Eurotax, insurer or classifieds: where a used-car price comes from
In Greece a used car is priced in one of four ways: from the iAD price book (the former Eurotax Hellas), from an insurer's value tool, by reading the classifieds, or by comparing it with the same cars for sale right now. Two questions separate them: do they account for mileage, and who can see them?

What this means for a dealership
- Mileage changes the price
- A price that never asks for mileage gives the same number for a car on 40,000 km and one on 240,000. When you buy from a private seller or quote a trade-in, that gap is your margin.
- Buyers compare with the ads, not a price book
- A buyer opens car.gr before walking into the showroom. Your price is judged next to everyone else's ad for the same car, this week.
- The market moves every week
- A price book does not know that ten identical cars were listed since Monday. Comparing with what is for sale now sees it the same day.

What is Eurotax in Greece today?
Eurotax Hellas was founded in 2000 as the Greek arm of Eurotax. In 2017 it renamed itself Intelligent Automotive Data (iAD), and it still supplies vehicle prices and data to insurers and trade professionals.
