What it means if you are buying
A car.gr listing that has been online for over a month has roughly a one-in-three chance of having dropped already. If you are not in a hurry, it is worth watching and making an offer around the typical cut.
What it means if you are selling
Sellers who cut usually do it once, by a round amount, after a month has passed. The right price from the start saves that month.
How we measured it
For each listing we compare the first price we recorded with the latest. A listing counts only if we saw it again at least 30 days after the first time, because a price seen once cannot show a change.
We measure the cars that did not sell quickly. Those sold in the first days never reach a month, and that is exactly the question: what happens to the ones that stay.
Each site is measured separately, because the difference between them is part of the finding. On ix.gr we record the price every time we see the listing, so the low share there is not changes we missed. A group appears only with at least 100 listings.
